Stuttering Problems
Well as the topic says actually.. I had the vsync off and i was experiancing heavy stuttering. While trying to fix it, i opened the vsync and solved the stuttering. However then it caused me a mouse lag which is again impossible to play with.
Any way to fix this mouse lag or the stuttering (without opening the vsync) ?
I'm using Windows 7 x64 with a ati mobility radeon 4650. (both problems experianced with good fps/ping).
Please ask if you need more information.
Any help is much appreciated since i'm trying to fix it till one month :/

Re: Stuttering Problems
A few weeks ago ATI had released the new ATI Catalyst 10.5 driver.
Did you check it out?
By the way, I've heard the vsync-enabled mouse lag can be eliminated if you find a way to restrict your fps to the sync rate of your monitor (59.9 pfs on 60 hz monitor).
However, you'd better keep it off and check the new driver.
On the way, try reducing frames and quality and see whether your freezes are gone.

Yeah i'm pretty sure that would fix, though it is impossible with babo :/
For gfx configuration, i've tried almost every combination... ^^
I redownloaded my drivers pretty recently but gonna check again ty Sasha

Re: Stuttering Problems
Did you try setting it to 60 anyway?
I believe your monitor's refresh rate is higher then 60.
Might do the trick though.

Re: Stuttering Problems
Yeah i did, there the mouse lag is caused by having vysnc on, and the solution is to close it.
however that doesnt help me since i have stuttering with the vsync closed, which is how i play actually but not so playable :/

Re: Stuttering Problems
The best I can recommend now is to try playing with the graphics settings around,
disabling windows composition or upgrade to windows xp

Re: Stuttering Problems
You've got the troubles with both Operating Systems?
Downgrade your graphics driver then.
I bet you have ati and their latest catalyst limps. Go for the 9.3 version .
And double check your mouse drivers if there are any.
The mouse lags are not supposed to present on XP.

Re: Stuttering Problems
Downloaded Rivatuner and install it, wait for it to build database.
Go: Start-> All Programs-> RivaTuner-> D3DOverrider
Press the big "+" sign to add a profile, browse to find "bv2p.exe" and add it
Settings:
Application detection level: High
Force triple buffering: Off
Force VSync: Off
Launch bv using the bv2p.exe file located in the babo install folder, not the launcher (depending on what client you have ofc).

Re: Stuttering Problems
updating the topic with what i know so far:
Problem: stuttering
Facts:
-not OS related
-it starts okey and get worse as i play
-no temperature issues
-happens in other ONLINE games too (only online!)
-good ping, good fps (around 200) (although performance light changes to yellow in the other game im playing)
this should help narrowing it down
and help is still much apreciated, 6 months milestone
(ignore the first post about vsync)

Re: Stuttering Problems
hey there i'm sorry i thought it was locked
XP
Did you try to install Ati TrayTools? I'll post it even I think you did this.
There somewhere in that Atitraytools you have a FlipQueueSize option, same as nvidia's MaxFramesAhead rendering. Idk does win7 manages to control this option but xp does not.
Anyway your problem is not with lag which is the main reason why would someone change this setting, but the stuttering which also is invoked (in some cases) by this.
So while setting this setting to 2, 1 or 0 reduces the input lag, settings above should slightly increase it or in some cases not ( ) but the image processing will be more agile and thus stuttering should be reduced. Try maybe set it to 4 or 5 and test, try 0, 1 and 2 for example too... gl hope it helps
Registry tweak
If traytool doesn't help try putting this in you registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{GUID from CCC}\0000]
"FlipQueueSize"="5"
For that guid, open the ATI Catalyst Control Center, and select the Information Center > Graphics Software section. The 2D Driver Path will show the GUID (the number between the curly brackets, "{}") for your active video device.
Put it there and restart.

I found ages ago that win7 is shit and asdjkffskdjfh!
