Re: Microsoft Office Access

i faced them 4-5 years ago in university and as far as i remember, there was nothing complicated there.

I know u don't call college school, we have had this conversation before, so it is not a school/college/university/"or whatever else u want to call it" exercise ;P
but I didn't ask about those, I asked about accessfuazi wrote:study mssql or oracle, they are more popular

Trying to do anything in particular, or is it just a case of "I want to know how to do some shit in Access"?
Re: Microsoft Office Access
a little bit of both =)Mnk wrote:Trying to do anything in particular, or is it just a case of "I want to know how to do some shit in Access"?
need to find out what is possible with access, but in case I cannot use it, it is still nice to know.
I'll look into ur links crap, thx
Re: Microsoft Office Access
You seriously should just get pro on Photoshop instead!!! Access is as annoying/stressful as circumcising your own foreskin.

Re: Microsoft Office Access
Lol...some people have way too much free time on their hands
I've worked with access a bit, and it is pretty annoying and boring mostly. Honestly, if it was my choice and I didn't have to learn it, or need it, I would never want to know about it.
If you've got some free time and want to learn something, how about photoshop (as mentioned before) or some 3d modeling program (blender is free and quite good) or you could even try some animation using flash? - assuming of course, you don't really have much knowledge about these programs.
As for access tutorials, I used to have some, but I'm pretty sure they were in portuguese. :/

Blender is great, but learning it takes a lot of time (I've been doing stuff in it for 5-6 years). The biggest problem is it's GUI and the fact that half of it's functions are either not working or too complicated to use. But if you learn it you can do great stuff like this:
Btw, access sucks, those databases only come in handy for some corporation purposes (unless you wanna, for example, categorize all lego bricks in your stock xD)

Re: Microsoft Office Access
jeez.. I am not asking about this just because I am bored..
This is my choice and I don't really care how you all feel about this program. Maybe it is boring and annoying, but I will find that out on my own.
I am asking for help about Access not asking what other stuff to spend my time on.
I honestly don't see the relevance between Access and photoshop/Blender, unless I am totally wrong as to what u use Access for.
So just pls stick on topic.. if noone can/will help, I will figure it out on my own, just thought maybe I could save some time by asking here first.

Re: Microsoft Office Access
Mnk, will we both agree on the fact
google offers much more then we all possibly could,
in the most fitting fashion a person might need?
(in most cases :)
« Good point, let's answer all requests for help with "JFGI". »
Well, if you couldn't help but you can refer to someone who could, what would you do on my place?
Anette,
Let's look at the facts together. The community is not a developers'/geeks'/DBA's one and the chance to meet a person possessing a good MS Access guide here is not really high. Secondly, we may notice there was a page of responses prior to mine which, apparently, weren't satisfying (with almost 5 days in-between).
The best option I'd suggest you is to conduct a search of your own, saving your time and choosing the best resource speaking for you. This is the best way I know - and I'm offering it to you. You can choose to dismiss it, use it yourself or check Crapper's findings for example.
