Hehe, I thought it would be nice to catch a few moments of our members playing a nice schooly without them knowing they are being recorded.
It mainly began as more of a footage of Char, as you will notice the "camera" is more focused on him, but later on into the schooly i decided to "film" a bit more of everyone.
Hope you enjoyed, and tune in for the next episode

Nice and with fitting music too.
1 thing though. When the camera was doing closeups, I tried several times to scroll out so as to get a wider view of the map. Guess the error is at my end though cause somehow, it didn't work out like I'd hoped lol

Which software did you use ?

Looks like fraps, (at least the framerate counter in the upper left corner looks like the fraps one).

It's kinda weird not to hear the gunsounds though.

Yes, what I used for recording was fraps. It's the best that I managed to find out for this.

Well, you could look around the forum and eventually you'll find everything, but I'll point you in the right direction free of cost this time

Here's the official link from the american babo forum where you can find the pro client setup. No manual needed, just install it as you would normally install babo, and run it using the Update.exe (that's what works for me anyway, the others just give errors).

Dev, at what resolution, do you record it?

When you record it at lets say 1920 x 1600, and you then encode it at 800 x 600, then send it at youtube (which is gonna rape it even more). Well, It doesn't quite turn out pretty. Hardly readable names and shiz. You get the point.

But when you already record it at 640 x 480, then send it to youtube, you already have a rather smaller file, though with more detail then the cropped version, and overall quality is improved.

As I said, I don't know how you actually did it, but maybe you could experiment with the resolutions of babo, and upload a few different resolution test (15 second) videos to youtube to see how it turns out best?

I am looking into capture software today, so I will be doing some tests myself as well.

EDIT: Yay, it seems glc works perfectly with wine + babo. Encoding is next.

EDIT: It seems encoding works, though mencode is a beast when it comes to features, so I don't know how half of it works. But I got 125 MB of raw video into 1-4 MB (For 10 seconds?), So I guess you could call that a success.

Uploading it to youtube however seems to be a problem. Uploading succeeds, but when youtube want to re-encode it with its failcodec, they mess it up, "failed to convert video". Seems I have to try more settings with mencode to get something youtube accepts.

Well, I record it at 1280 x 800 which is the max resolution that my lappy suports and the one I use in babo.

It's a great idea though, I shall try that and record at smaller resolutions, because as you said, converting the file already ruins the quality and then youtube does it again, still I think it's a readable, but hey...if we can get a better quality, why not try different things?


And lol Pirate...seems you're going through lots of mumbo jumbo with this whole process. Appreciate the effort Tells us about any improvements.

commentary would be fun personally i would like to do it seen as most of you folk would get a laugh out of my accent , i watched both the vids of the late night schooly i was in and it took ages buffering.
