And something needs to be done!

Photon has several settings to be tinkered with:

sv_photonDamageCoefficient
sv_photonType
sv_photonDistMult
sv_photonHorizontalShift
sv_photonVerticalShift

I'll analyze the source code to see what each of these do and update the thread with possible improvements.

Suggestions are welcome.

Honestly, you can try all you want but I won't be changing anything on my servers and I bet I can convince w00t of the same

Pub is pub, I don't think we should nerf a weapon which is... fine, just because it gets annoying in high numbers. Same applies to sniper rifles and bazookas imo.

Let's not forget that more of the half of the current weapon values were established by the community and not by this game's creators:
- dmg
- cg
- sg
- ft
- sniper

One look at the source code tells you there was exactly 0 thought put into this game's balance :-)

My, as you so eloquently put it, assholish input is an answer to your usual moronish and idiotic attempt to alter weapons to your liking. Deal with it or fu*k off. No one cares if you're in the game or not although you may think otherwise.
Pub players shouldn't suffer under what we as a "community" decide. The "community" is gone and has been for a while now. Not many of the current players know about this forum so you'll get maybe 10 votes out of what...? 30-40 players of the game. Fu*k that. I say I won't change a damn thing and that's what I stand by. Sadly for you the servers are owned by actual people and they can do as they please, disregarding anything that's decided on a forum.

Edit: Talked to w00t and he won't change anything either. GL, HF and go fu*k yourself... yes, I can be rude too Razz

By your logic, pub players have already been suffering for years because of all the changes we've voted here.

Yes, pub players have suffered. Sniper was nerfed on squad servers and those changes were later implemented on pub, not by a vote but by edited configs from my side, I take full responsibility for that. Ft was nerfed by the game creators when they set base and tip damage instead of just damage as in the old server versions. Zooka was nerfed from 0.80 to 0.55 on remotedet by the game creators too so no, not all changes were done by players. I have always been the voice for not nerfing weapons, I admit to being against every change ever made to the weapons from DMG to zooka. I'm saying this has to stop and I will fight for photon to stay the way it is.

hey tarzan I think dz should replace u with haww0 since u are suckin big times lately xD, niga already voted for your dismission..

anyway back to the post, i've finally remembered my password on this forum so i can say that the only weapons i'd nerf are smg and sniper cause I really hates people using them (names above)
