Cuisine
yoo,
I saw this kind of topic on another forum, and liked it. I think it can fits well our forum, because we have people from all over europe and things could get interesting. So, this is about food and cook.
I'm sure there are among us, people who hate cooking, find it boring. But I also think that there are people who enjoy eating good food.
Personally, I do not always have time/motivation to cook, but it happens sometimes. And when it does, I can say that cooking is almost as pleasant as eating great food (in some way).
hm..So the point of this topic is to write local recipes you like (pictures required^^), your tips and to compare your tastes. You can also talk about your national food culture if you want.
I'll start :
- le magret de canard (duck)
On the second picture, there is honey on it. Had the chance to try once...hmm.
So, recipe here : http://www.ffcook.com/pages/Wquestarch30.htm
-----
- Roesti
Not really a french recipe, but very known and appreciated in Alsace (French region).
preparation is simple and quick. You can choose to only make it with potato, or add whatever you want (cheese, bacon, onions, tomatoes, etc).
recipe here : http://www.cuisinedumonde.com/roesti.html

Re: Cuisine
Really great ideia Martzy
Guys, like Martz said above:
don't throw random food, just because it was your will! ...the point of it, I think it is to share different/traditional food cultures from your own country...not sharing food, that we all know, simply because we all have those restaurants right on the corner of our own street
So, I'll share two recipes I really like...Both original from the north of Portugal, and sooo good.
Cozido à Portuguesa
recipe -> Cozido à Portuguesa
Francesinha
recipe -> Francesinha

"History
Francesinha
It is said that the Francesinha was an invention in the 1960s. Daniel da Silva, a returned emigrant from France and Belgium, tried to adapt the croque-monsieur to Portuguese taste. Other versions date the Francesinha to the 19th century."
this is what says on wiki that I posted above ^^'
Pastel De Nata
this is not the recipe, but more a bit of it's history -> Pastéis De Nata
