Low budget computer?

Recently my motherboard crashed so now I'm thinking of upgrading my components to a higher level. I'm thinking of buying AMD Phenom II 555 black edition cause it's cheap and recently I installed it to my friend so I saw how it handles. Then that also brings more expenses: motherboard and ddr...
Thing is the CPU can run on AM2 (DDR2) and AM3 (DDR3) motherboards and idk what to choose.
Anyone have any suggestion/experiences (or recently upgraded) ? Maybe intel?
Also a reminder that I need good integrated graphics cause a new graphic card is a bit too much for me now.

Thing is that new integrated GPUs beat my old nVidia 6600 for about 12364234% !

Feget. I have Intel 950 integrated gpu and I get above 60 fps on normal conditions and with the new and improved cubo in the oven I wouldn't worry that much.
